Here are some more tips:

1. Content is king. Provide value in terms of good articles (Blog!!!!) and retweets.
2. And don't forget to use hashtags. (#). knowing the hashtags used by your target market will get your name/content in front of the right people.

Regards,
Jim Gilbert

Cool tips thanks, I'll be checking some of those out :) I also use http://www.yourversion.com (also free) - it shows me a constantly updated stream of Tweets (as well as Blogs, News, websites) that contain the keywords (Interests) I want to track. I used to use Google Alerts but got sick of all the emails. I also just cleaned my list recently after finding out about http://thetwitcleaner.com/ - it gives pretty good insights into your followers and who you're following. thanks again, and enjoy!
