Online Video Advertising Opportunities Are Limitless

Using Online Video to Advertise Your Small Business
We’ve brushed on the topic of online video marketing from time to time at Small Business news. There have been some opportunities in this area for some time now, but those are growing at a rapid pace as online video continues to surge in popularity among consumers.
Strides continue to be made with what exactly can be achieved. New ad units continue to present themselves, for example. Companies test what works and what doesn’t, and find different ways that they can utilize this medium to suit their brand.
WebProNews recently ran a very interesting video with AJ Vernet of the Digital Broadcasting Group, which has worked with some big brands, such as Diet Coke, Walmart, American Express, Lionsgate, Miller Lite, etc. This conversation produced some insightful commentary on how online video can be used effectively for brands and where it is going in the very near future.
If you are looking to advertise with online video, it may help to think of it in a very similar manner as you would traditional television content, with respect to creative. Not much has changed in that department. Successful ads still must capture viewer interest and connect that to your brand. What has changed is how you can go about getting that content out. As opposed to the limited television route, which only offers viewers a small (although certainly larger compared to that of yesteryear) amount of channels, online video means practically limited channels.
There are tons of video sites out there beyond the well-knowns like YouTube and Hulu. Most of these video sites have tons of channels. Most of them also enable users to embed videos, so videos that are hosted on these sites can be posted at any site on the web. You can of course offer this feature if you host your own video as well. Not everyone can afford a big budget to make a really flashy looking video ad. There are ways around this for businesses with small budgets. You don’t need explosions to have a good ad. There are plenty of indie films that are better than Transformers 2, if you catch my drift.
